I decided to go out and practice some street photography on halloween day. it was early afternoon when I walked down to Cafe Umbria in Occidental Park with my gear. I ordered a latte and sat down at a table outside to see how many people I could capture in their costumes. Being as liberal as it is, many employers in town welcome their employees getting into costume on Halloween, so most of these folks were probably on break or commuting from work rather than on their way to late night festivities.
I chose to mate my X-T20 with the 50-140mm f/2.8 so I could reach all the way across the street and further familiarize myself with what it can and can’t do. However, it garnered a lot of attention, so midway through I transitioned to the 16-55mm f/2.8 to be more discreet and figured I’d just crop to zoom in post.
As the sun set and the temperature began to fall, I walked around the area for some architecture shots. Those I’ll feature in the next post. For now, enjoy the photographed festivities.
